Payments are handled automatically within the XS Spaces app. When you reserve a space, you will input your credit card information. You are billed for the first seven days when you book (plus service fees). After that, you are billed at the start of every seven day period until your reservation ends (plus service fees).
Your credit card information is processed and held with a PCI-compliant 3rd party. XS Spaces will never hold onto your credit card information.

All prices are set by the individual space owners. XS Spaces charges a renter service fee of 10% of the subtotal plus $0.30 + 2.9% to cover credit card fees. You can view more at our Fees and Fines page.
‘Verified Addresses’ are listings where XS Spaces has confirmed that the listing is owned and maintained by the person who posted it at the address they provided. All listings that have been verified are marked with the ‘Verified Address’ badge.

This varies depending on insurance carrier but typically the items being stored are covered by the Renter’s home or renter’s insurance policy. The home or renter’s insurance policy of the Owner typically does not cover the items being stored.
It is important to realize however that the details of coverage vary depending on carrier and plan and that coverage is not a guarantee. It is important you check with your insurance carrier for specific details on your coverage.
While XS Spaces cannot offer actual insurance policies for purchase, we are proud to offer the XS Spaces Guarantee of up to $500 as reimbursement for damage or theft of items in storage at no cost to you. Please read more about the guarantee’s terms and conditions here.
If you desire additional insurance, there are companies that offer insurance specific for items being stored in storage. We recommend you google ‘self-storage insurance’ to find a company that is right for you.

Level of access is determined by the Space Owner.
XS Spaces provides the option to specify an indefinite rental period (i.e. one without an end date). You simply remove your items when you are no longer in need of storage.
It’s your responsibility as the Renter to ensure that your stored items will not cause any harm, destruction, or injury. Restricted items include, but are not limited to, firearms, toxins, drugs, explosives, hazardous or flammable materials, pesticides, waste, ammunition, controlled substances, stolen goods, and perishable food items.
Owners may also specify other restricted items for their space. You can see more in the ‘Prohibited Items’ Section of our Terms of Service.
We respect the privacy of the Renter and will never make you disclose the specific items you are storing. We will only ask that you attest that you are not storing any aforementioned restricted items or any additional items restricted by the Owner. Providing general descriptions of your items (e.g. boxes, a couch, chair, etc) will help facilitate the transaction with the Space Owner.
The Owner can only terminate the rental agreement under certain circumstances and only by providing two (2) weeks notice. If two (2) weeks notice cannot be provided, the Owner must pay the ‘No-Cause Eviction’ fee of six (6) weeks equivalent of the daily rate, where up to 80% goes to you the Renter.
As a Renter, you are free to remove your items at any time provided you follow all the rules outlined in our Reservation Cancellation and Modification policy.
In the event you cease to make payments while still leaving your items in storage, you will be considered to be in ‘default’ and are subject to the rules defined in our Renter Default and Eviction policy.
