We get this question a lot and it’s very understandable. Space Owners want to make sure they aren’t exposing themselves to too much risk and Space Renters want to make sure their items are safe.
Typically, the items being stored are covered by the Space Renter’s home owner or renter’s insurance. The Space Owner is not liable for damage to the stored items unless it can be proved that the Space Owner was negligent or maliciously purposely damaged the items.
Coverage on stored items, however, varies based on plan and carrier. It is important the Space Renter reviews their specific plan to be certain. XS Spaces is planning in the near future to offer protection plans for users to supplement existing insurance or do not have any.
